I agree the red white and yellow were just classic, probably one of these things that are burned into our souls from when we were kids, associated with the NBA, Dominique.

By today's standards that classic jersey's design is a little outdated, yes, but why get rid of it completely instead of updating the design? My theory is they know they suck now, and when they'll be respectable they'll dig out the old uni design.

The new design is unimaginative and grim.

Lame but it's who will win not who I wish would win.

76ers fired Billy King!

December 4, 2007 by wojtek

Holy crap, it finally happened. The Sixers fired Billy King and hired Ed Stefanski of the Nets (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3140824)

From a personal perspective, it's hard not to feel bad for King, who was a good guy, and wanted to build a team not only successful but also one that was made of Good Guys that played the right way.

Ultimately, however, this is a business. The fans were weary of of all the same nice talk and no action: it's a bottom-line business, and the bottom line is Sixers failed to entice any major free agents to sign with them, failed to trade up in the draft a couple of times (seriously, is anyone on this team really untradeable?).

This officially ends the era of the Pat Croce / Allen Iverson / Larry Brown / Billy King Sixers. While only really successful in one year, they were a fun, hard playing team with a humane face.
